Awww. Thank you so much. I asked Huma to make it for me and she did an absolutely fabulous job. How can anyone not love Big Daddy Scorpio!!! The man could be 100 and I think I would still find him sexy.

Middle school has been an interesting experiment, for sure. But it's not for me. I'm excited about elementary school. And teaching spec. ed. I imagine it's a bit overwhelming for you to be getting into with IEPs and what not... but hopefully you'll be involved with professionals who know what they're doing.

I'm in the same general area, between Greensboro and Durham. I'm moving back towards Durham during the summer. I seem to like that area the best... it's almost like home.

Mostly teaching 7th grade science... ugh. This is my last year though, I think I'm going to elementary school. I'm also working on my Masters in special education. I have 12 days of teaching left, and then I'm taking the summer off. I can't remember the last time I did that.

good for you on the special ed thing. not sure if you picked it up from my update on TCT in the oldtimers thread, but my son adam has asperger's syndrome. he is going into kindergarten in the fall. i've been learning so much about ASDs and also about how the whole thing works with IEPs, etc. most of the time, i feel like i am on overload with all of it.

elementary school is such a happy place - if you have been teaching in middle school, God Bless! i know i could never have the patience for teaching in the first place, and then there are all the politics... makes me crazy when damon talks about it.

so where in NC are you these days? are you going to stay in the area when you change schools?

    OME, Susan, you left BOSTON?!?

    Reply from susanemb:

Yes, we moved to my husband Damon's hometown area, in the surrounding suburbs of Buffalo, NY! It will be two years in August. I am slowly adjusting, although I think I will always think of Boston as home. It was for 18 years!

What have you been up to since graduating?

  1. My Thoughts on The Canvas

Let me start this blog by admitting that I don't know why I feel intimidated to post my thoughts on last month's events at TC. I've certainly given the issue time to settle within me. This isn't some heat of the moment post that I'll regret ten seconds after it is out there. Hell, this is just a blog on my profile that I don't even have to make visible...

I really do have something to say. I'm just having trouble expressing it. Bear with me, and check back later for my thoughts if you'd like.
